Safety

Last updated November 5, 2026

If someone is in danger right now, call your local emergency number first. In the US, you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at any time.

Block someone

Open the chat in Messages and choose Block. Their messages stop at the relay. Only someone with your invite can reach you, and you choose whether to accept them.

Report someone

Messages are end-to-end encrypted, so we can't read a chat unless you show it to us.

  • Open the chat and choose Report.
  • Pick a reason. Stuff shows you exactly what the report holds: the reason and up to 10 of their latest messages.
  • Choose Copy report, then paste it into an email to safety@stuffbox.app.

Nothing is sent unless you send it. A person reads every report, and we aim to reply within 2 business days.

Child safety standards

Stuff has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation, including grooming and sexual content involving anyone under 18. It's banned by our terms.

  • In the app: people can block and report anyone. Nobody can find you by searching, and strangers can't message you without an invite.
  • When we receive a report: we review it as a priority, and take whatever action the report and the law allow. Because the relay holds no names, we may not be able to identify the person, so block them too.
  • Reporting to authorities: we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and we cooperate with law enforcement as the law requires.
  • Our AI: Stuff's characters aren't made for sexual content, and we don't allow it involving minors in any form.

Our child safety contact is safety@stuffbox.app.

If you've seen a child being exploited online, you can also report it directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline.

Help in the app

If you tell StuffAI or a character that you're thinking about hurting yourself, or describe a medical emergency, it stops and gives you a fixed message pointing you to real help. It looks for common phrases, so it can miss things. It isn't a replacement for a person or for emergency services.
